I have been fortunate enough to find my passion in working with and helping others. After completing my Master’s in Counselling Psychology in 2018, I became a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario as well as a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals. After 5 years of training and experience, I decided to integrate clinical supervision into my practice.
Connecting with a therapist or a clinical supervisor is a challenging first step, but it is often the first step towards discovery, growth, and change. I aspire to create a safe, supportive and comfortable space, in both therapy and clinical supervision, to help individuals uncover their resiliency and build skills that help them increase their ability to cope with life difficulties.
When working with clients, I use an integrative approach, which is similar to using a toolbox with various types of therapeutic models including Client-Centered therapy, Narrative therapy, Cognitive Behavioural therapy, Solution-focused therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based therapy. I offer individual, couple, and family therapy for a wide variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, anger management, self-esteem, domestic violence, communication problems, stress management, and life transitions.
In clinical supervision, my model begins as concrete, formal, and directive teaching and gradually transitions into more non-directive, informal mentoring. This is not only dependent on the supervisee’s skill development, but also whether personality suits in order to meet the unique learning needs of supervisees.
Drawing from a competency-based and treatment-based approach, we focus on skills and learning along with specific theoretical orientations to counselling. I combine psychotherapy-based approaches with social role-based models to help create a supportive, but not therapeutic environment that facilitates professional development, competency and independence
